Summer's almost over! We at JAMS have been very busy this Summer, from teaching in the Sherwood School District to bringing abacus to senior living communities to participating in Bethany Village Summer concerts, the time has flown past! We're looking forward to winding down the Summer and the return of the cooler "Oregon weather." Hope to see you and your children this Fall and that you enjoy this issue of The News Bead!

JAMS Closed 8/15-8/29

 

Sensei will be travelling abroad during the last half of August, so JAMS will be closed from 8/15 through 8/29. If you would like to register your child or have an immediate need during this time, please contact Rebecca Beaupre at jams.info@gmail.com or via phone at 503-840-9653.

 

Fall classes will begin on September 8. Hope to see you in class!

Notes
• OES class will be registering through Oregon Episcopal School
• There is a $25 sibling discount on each additional child if you pay tuition when you pay only in full.

 

Open enrollment for New Students is on a first come first serve basis. Class sizes are limited. All fees are non-refundable.

JAMS to Appear at Bethany Village Summer Concerts

 

Mark you calendars for Thursday, July 30 and Thursday, August 13! At the July 30 concert, Sensei Miwako and possibly a few select students will be providing an abacus math demonstration. Come on out and cheer us on and help spread the word about the power of the abacus!

Does Your Child Want to Show Their Skills?

 

As JAMS becomes more and more popular we’re getting invited to present the abacus to a wide variety of groups and events. Having a student along to showcase their abilities is always a great way to share the power of mental math with others. If your child would like to participate in these events (some of them take place in the evenings and on weekends), please let us know so we can keep them in mind as opportunities come up. You can often invite your family and friends to events, so it is also a great way to show them what your child is learning at JAMS.
